Vacation to Charleston

Hubs and I spent part of last week in Charleston, SC to celebrate our 15th anniversary, and we had such a great time! The city is beautiful, the beaches were so peaceful, but my favorite part? The people! They were so incredibly friendly! I had never visited the South before and it has a piece of my heart now!charleston22 charleston20 charleston18 charleston16 charleston15 charleston12Charleston25Charleston24

Below are some pictures I took at Boone Hall Plantation, which is a spectacular property. The movie “The Notebook” was filmed here, along with many others.charleston11 charleston10

Below are the former slave quarters lining the entrance to the property.charleston9 charleston8 charleston6 charleston5 charleston4 charleston2 charleston3

We spent one afternoon just taking in all of the beautiful homes in historic Charleston. The streets are so pretty and full of charm!charleston23charleston collage1charleston collage2charleston31It was a wonderful getaway! I mean, getting to eat several meals in a row and spend time by ourselves with no one else to worry about? So awesome.  But we were excited to come home and squeeze our kiddos again! Now it’s back to work and grocery shopping and laundry and all that good stuff!

  1. Beautiful photos! Two of my girlfriends and I just returned from a trip there and to Savannah, and we loved it!! We didn’t go to Boone Plantation, so we’re planning another trip to go see that 🙂

  2. AWW that’s where we went on our honeymoon almost 15 years ago! Same exact plantation too!
I loved the moss in the trees! Brought back memories!! Thanks for sharing!!

  3. Ahhhh, how wonderful that you visited Charleston! That is one of my favorite places in all of the south. There is charm and beauty everywhere! What a special trip for you two, and well-deserved! Next time, come about 3 hours further and visit our home and Savannah! 🙂 xoxo
